In October, the Illinois State Board of Education released its 2023 Illinois Report Card, which is prepared annually to provide a detailed look at each school. Our teachers and staff have dedicated themselves to bringing the best academic, physical, and social emotional opportunities to our students, while our students and families have dedicated themselves to working hard and supporting the school’s goals. Even though we have faced serious challenges over the past few years, Brown County Elementary continues to succeed.
Again this year, Brown County Elementary School received a designation of COMMENDABLE. Commendable is a designation given to schools who have no underperforming student groups. This rating reflects the hard work staff have put in to provide our students with a quality education, as well as the hard work our students have put in. This designation is federally required and is based on eight indicators of academic performance, including growth and progress on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), student attendance, and teacher retention.
We are thankful to our Brown County families, educators, and community members as we work to bring our students the best education possible.
