Meet Kindergarten Teacher Kara Cox
Kara Cox attended Eastern Illinois University and majored in Early Childhood Education. She had always planned on being a teacher. Her fourth-grade teacher inspired her to be a teacher and she was always letting her “help” by giving her small jobs in the classroom. She also dressed up as a teacher for Halloween in 5th grade. She was always a junior high or high school helper in summer camps and church or any children’s event. Ms. Cox chose Kindergarten because she loves helping young children. She says they are so excitable by everything. She says they are little sponges who learn so fast. She loves helping them accomplish so many “first” things in their first years of school. A saying that she says all the time is “you get what you get, and you don’t throw a fit!” and “practice makes you better!” she likes this saying a lot because she says we all can’t be perfect at everything, but we can all do better. If she wasn’t a teacher, she would like to be a daycare provider or a personal shopper.
