Meet Elementary School 2nd Grade Teacher Mary Elliot Ingram
Mary attended college at Illinois College, undergrad, and Walden University along with Quincy University for her Master's. She has looked forward to becoming a teacher since she was in kindergarten, now she has been teaching for 17 years. She loves the silliness involved in teaching, for example with every "Guess what?" there's a "chicken butt." Mary plans on staying in the elementary department, she enjoys the outlook young children have on everyday topics. She has taught at Mt.Sterling for eight years, before that she taught in Jacksonville, Colorado, and Camp Point. Outside of school Mary enjoys the fall weather, and being with her kids and husband. If she were to receive 3 wishes she would wish that the people making rules for educators actually knew what was going on throughout the day, that people understood teachers do a lot more than just "teach," and that there was a better balance with working and being a mom. A few other things to know about Mary is her favorite sport is basketball, she wishes to go on vacation to Ireland, if she wasn't a teacher she would be a chef, and her favorite animal is either a giraffe or a dog. She actually has a dog named Hulk along with a cat names Mr.Meowington.
