Meet Senior Jake Laning
Jake Laning plans to attend college at John Wood or Lincoln Land. He wants to study Agriculture. He plans to go into the workforce for farming. During high school, Jake was in football, basketball, baseball, FFA, and NHS. He said, “I have a special connection with all of my teachers, but Mr. Miller has influenced me the most”. Jake thinks the best thing about being a senior is that everyone looks up to you, and the worst part is that you have high expectations. He says the most rewarding thing about graduating high school is getting your diploma. Jake wants to live in Mt sterling because it is home, and the family farm is here. In 10 years, Jake sees himself married with 4 kids as a farmer and being successful. His most embarrassing high school memory was wearing a tutu to school for America day. His favorite high school memory was when Marcus broke a school van window. Laning’s advice for incoming freshmen is to not rush it because four years go by so fast.
