1st Grade- Rocking the Solar System
On Tuesday, January 11th, we went to the Elementary School and took some pictures of the 1st Grade classes, which are taught by Mrs.Ransom and Mrs.Kassing. When we went, the classes were working on some spelling and told us about their solar system unit. The kids were learning trick words, two and put, and practiced by using them in sentences. The class had also worked on glue sounds and how to use them, some of the sounds being ing, ink, ung, and ang. For their solar system unit, the classes are learning patterns. They have studied patterns of day and night, and have even studied the patterns of the moon and why it changes. To add even more fun to their unit, the 1st grade classes have drawn rockets as an art connection to the solar system unit.
