Meet HS Biology Teacher Amanda Winter
Amanda Winter went to southern Illinois University Edwardsville. What she likes about teaching is the students because when they get a Aha Moment! it’s the best feeling to see them understand and succeed. Her favorite thing is when the students use material outside of school and they’re excited about it. It’s so rewarding to hear “Mrs. Winter I was at the doctor’s office, and they were using the same words we use during class!” Or “I actually understand what’s going on in Greys Anatomy. She has been teaching for about 4 years. She likes to call her students wonderful beings because she never knows if they are aware that they can be wonderful. Another thing she likes to say is that you’re smarter than you think. There are different intelligences. She knows a lot about biology, but she couldn’t help someone fix their car. Her favorite season is fall. She thinks fall is the best weather, the leaves on the trees change, and we get to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
