Meet HS English Teacher Sheryl Miller
Mrs. Miller earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Quincy University in 1991. She earned her master’s degree in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications in Western Illinois University in 2000. She has an additional course work in several other colleges such as Quincy University and University of Illinois at Springfield. She has always planned on being an English teacher, as a kid her favorite thing to do was play school. From about third grade she knew she would have become an English teacher. She loves reading, writing, grammar, and spelling, it was a good fit for her. She has been teaching for 31 years and taught junior high for three years at Hamilton Middle School and taught 24 years at Liberty High School; this is also her fourth year of teaching BCHS. She would have loved to go to the mountains; any mountain will do she just loves the scenery and the quietness. She also loves winters; loves the fresh snow and cold temperatures. As a English teacher she loves to teach books to students but her favorite book would be “As I Lay Dying”, she likes how challenging it is and likes how she can see when her students start piecing the whole thing together, and it becomes fun. Her favorite book is Where the Heart, by Billie Letts. She couldn’t put it down.
